Southern California then became his new home, but he still felt a sense of displacement. His first exposure to art was through city murals, graffiti, and comic books which inspired her to start drawing on her own. His passion for art led her to pursue a degree in Illustration at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. During his college years, Huynh discovered his love for painting which motivated him to become a fine artist. His works are melancholic and leave the viewer with a sensation of longing, Huynh draws inspiration from the moniker “boat people” the nickname for Vietnam refugees.
